Read through the First Look, the book gives off a strong feeling as if someone is watching you. It is a very gothic and creepy vibe. You are instantly grabbed and invested in the story, waiting to see what is waiting you around the corner. The fact that this is a debut is more amazing to see. It reads like a well worn story.

The book follows Eleanor as she flees home after an incident at school, towards a family she left years before. Eleanor is soon left to navigate the mystery that is her family.

If the book cover doesn't draw you in, which by the is what initially caught my attention, then the ominous and foreboding atmosphere the author created will definitely grab you by it's claws The characters are dynamic, the family relationships deep, and the atmosphere amazingly gothic. A gem of YA storytelling and one to stick with you, even after the story ends.
