Five out of five stars!! this book was so much fun to read through. Right from the beginning, there is something wrong and you're just on the edge of your seat the entire time waiting for the reveal. The book is so beautifully written and explores so many different relationships. The magic in this book is so much fun. It is like if the Addams family had powers. As a huge fan of the Addams family myself, I could just imagine that big creepy house on top of the hill and all the villagers wondering what really happens behind the main entrance doors. The deep and dark family mysteries will leave anybody shocked. I would not go as far as to classify this book and just horror, it was definitely not as dreadful. However, the tension and gruesome secrets were still very gripping. Because the story is told from the point of view of Eleanor, you experience the same frustrations that she does when she cannot figure out why everything is going so wrong. The dark twist and turns of this book are a must. It is so beautiful.
