This isn't something I would normally read and I'm usually not a fan of horror or gothic. However I really was invested in What Big Teeth from the beginning! First off the cover is gorgeous. It's the perfect combination of pretty and eerie.

Main premise of the book is that our main character, Eleanor, comes back to the family mansion from boarding school after being sent away years earlier. She isn't very welcome at home or with her family and has limited memories. What she does know is that her family is... strange and dangerous. Think Addams family strangeness mixed with an almost - Crimson Peak feel.

I liked Eleanor for the most part, if she tended to be a completely blind to certain situations. She doesn't fit in with her family or at boarding school, but seeks comfort from those she probably shouldn't. I didn't love her relationship with Arthur, but it does make sense to the story. I also enjoyed the different perspective and history of her grandmother, Persephone.

I think many readers would enjoy this jump into what essentially is a deep dive into a family of horrors.
