The characters in this story are unsettling right off the bat. The mystery behind Eleanor's family and the event that caused Eleanor to leave her boarding school is intriguing and spooky. However, I found the characters difficult to connect to from the excerpt but I'm sure that changes as the book progresses. This isn't the typical type of fantasy book I'd gravitate towards but those who enjoy thrilling, spooky, and strange stories will probably love this book.
