I didn’t realize this would be the start of a series when I requested it or started reading it, so the ending left me wanting. I only know it’s the start because it’s labeled that way on Goodreads. I don't see a release date for the next book, which is even more frustrating because I will have forgotten the plot by the time it releases. This had so much promise, but it took a long time to get to a part that made the book hard to put down.
I absolutely love the cover because it draws the reader in. But unfortunately, this book needed more for me. I didn’t find myself drawn into the story until the second half, and that’s where it picks up.
I know people that have reviewed this so far have really loved the book. I’m more lukewarm to it. It’s clear I’m in the minority on that, so I would definitely encourage interested readers to give this book a shot because it holds promise.
