I absolutely adored this book for everything it had. I loved the writing, the story, the characters, and everything else. We follow the story of two brothers, Jack and Mattie. After their mother dies, they have no one but themselves. Their father is in prison for a robbery, so they have no choice but to make it on their own. Jack knows that money from that robbery but has no idea where it is. Ava, a new girl in town, has a secret. Her father was involved in the robbery that Jack and Mattie's father is in prison for, and he is also searching for the money. This story is a beautiful tale and I absolutely loved it. I could not put it down once I started. At first, I was afraid it would be juvenile, as it follows the story of three young people, but it was still very interesting and an emotional read. The characters are well developed and I felt for every one of them.
