This book was STUNNING! It was so beautifully written, the atmosphere, the characters, the story. Not only was this beautiful but it also ripped me apart. Jack is a high school student, whose life is turned upside down. His dad is in prison, and his mother takes her life, leaving Jack to care for his little brother Matty. Their money is quickly disappearing, and Jack is faced with the choice of either enter the foster care system or try to find the drug money his father may have stolen and hidden, so he can take care of his brother. Ava meets Jack, their lives intertwined in many ways. Her father has always controlled her life, and taught her to trust no one. But she is drawn to Jack, and her father is hot on the brothers' trail, after the same money they are. This book was sooooo good, and I tore through it because it was so action packed and I had to know what was happening to Jack, Matty, and Ava.
