I love the cover of this book! I wasn't sure what to expect from this book, but I was not expecting such a fresh take on a forbidden romance! Forget Romeo and Juliet, this romance was truly doomed! The book had me absolutely guessing until the last word.
This is going to sound bad, but I often don't like books with male perspectives. Often the male comes off as too feminine and emotional, or they are all TRUCKS, GIRLS, FOOD, FIGHTS. This book did an amazing job of writing a struggling angsty boy that is falling in love for the first time but also trying hard to protect his little brother.
The author also did a great job foreshadowing stuff but not giving anything away. The book was filled with twists that I was kicking myself for not seeing all the clues laid out by the author. I can't wait to read more by this author and will definitely look out for more in the future!
