That’s The End?!
The cover of What Beauty There Is by Cory Anderson is absolutely stunning. It immediately captured my attention! I admit to being someone who buys, picks up, or initially wants to read a book based upon a cover, and this book is one of those books that I was immediately drawn too. The chapter headings and detailed pages are also gorgeous!
After I read the synopsis, I was even more intrigued and curious as to what this story was truly going to be about. The first chapter is dark and heartbreaking, but immediately has me rooting for Jack and Matty. I wish I could help them; take care of them. I want to know more about their father, what happened to their family, and what lead their mother to such a heartbreaking decision.
At the beginning of each chapter, are internal thoughts of characters that lead you to wonder what else is going on in the story. One ends up being a girl, named Ava. She seems like such a complex character, and if you read the synopsis, you know she is going to be an important part of this book!
Needless to say, when my pages ended I was left wanting more!! Literally, I said WHAT!? THAT’S IT!? I can’t wait to continue reading about Jack, Matty, and Ava...and will probably be thinking about them until I do!
