This would be a cover buy for me. Especially since it looked like it would deliver a deliciously dark and magical read. Little did I realize until I read the synopsis and started diving in how deeply dark this has the potential to be even if there isn't a magical element.
The writing style is unique compared to my other reads but I like the way this flows. The narrative aspect of Ava before the chapters is an excellent touch. I can see this needing trigger warnings for some readers as well.
I am already drawn into the personas of Jack and Ava. I cannot wait to see how their dynamic unfolds and what the outcome of their decisions will be. I currently have a battle of hope and demise waging war for the final outcome in my mind.
