Reading the comps to Nina Lacour, I was VERY excited about this preview. I was a bit leery from the description, as it seemed more liable to verge into misery-porn than the types of books I usually want to read. Unfortunately, the preview makes this seem much more depressing than uplifting, and the writing wasn't Nina Lacour-mesmerizing enough to make up for that fact. I don't think this is for me.
