And I'll say it again...heartbreaking. I am so intrigued by the first look that I'll be reading this regardless of the raffle. The characters and emotions they experience are very well-written to the point that the reader can feel it too. A teenage boy, Jack, is trying to take care of his little brother while his mom checks out with pills and alcohol and his father does prison time. A teenage girl that crosses paths with Jack has a father that seems to be psychotic. When Jack's mother checks out for good, Jack has to make decisions that no child should ever have to make to keep his little brother out of the foster system.
