What a Wild Ride

I have never read a book by M. William Phelps or listened to his podcast, but I am thinking that I am going to have to. I had never heard of Mary Yoder or Katie Conley before, which is pretty amazing to me since I really don't live that far from Utica. I've been trying to get more into nonfiction and true crime. When I read the first look through BookishFirst I instantly claimed the book, needing to know how this story turned out. It's amazing to me what Katie put the Yoder family through and that she really thought she could get away with murder. The evidence points to her, despite what her supporters want you to think. I never in a million years would think to point the finger at the son's ex-girlfriend. She was manipulative and made my stomach turn throughout reading this book. I read through this in a span of two days (Mind you that's while teaching online as well) because I needed answers. The Yoder family would never in a million years thought that Katie would have poisoned Mary to death. Adam's lucky that he wasn't poisoned to death as well.

This book was quite the ride. I'm curious to see how the case continues, since Katie has popped up in the news again for an acquittal.
