This book was incredibly interesting and attention-grabbing from the start! M. William Phelps does an amazing job at introducing every single person involved in this case. He is thorough in explaining who they are and their connection to Mary Yoder even if its very small.

The book does well at remembering Mary Yoder as the kind and positive person she was. By describing her relationships with everyone such as her family, friends, and patients, she is immortalized as who she was and not what happened to her. The book skips back and forth between dates to provide context of what was going on in Adam, Mary Yoder's son, and his on and off girlfriend, Katie Conley. The progression of the book hints at the culprit of Mary's death. Near the end, when the case goes to trial, it got a little confusing for me simply because so many new people were introduced. However, this book did a wonderful job at providing context and insight into what really happened to Mary Yoder.
