I've never read anything by this author, but I was interested in this as I'm somewhat familiar with the story and the area where it occurred.

The book focuses on the poisoning and death of Mary Yoder, a chiropractor from upstate New York who suffered from organ failure, causing her to be hospitalized before dying.

The book is detailed about the events that occurred in the week prior to Mary's suspicious death clear through the trial for her murder. The author does a nice job explaining the forensic evidence to the reader.

There is also a storyline regarding the victim's son, Adam Yoder, and his relationship with the office's receptionist, Katie Conley. This wasn't as much of a plot line, and it was a bit confusing to follow. The book might have been bit stronger had this been left out ... unless it's purpose was to make the reader question things.
