Special thank you to Kensington Books for sending me this ARC to read, in exchange for my honest review.

I am a total true crime junkie, so I quickly jumped at the chance to read and review this book before its publication. While I was not familiar with this author before reading this book, I definitely should have been. He is a NYT bestselling journalist and has written a boatload of books. He’s absolutely on my radar now.

As far as this book goes, it is a completely compulsive read that can be consumed over a weekend. The chapters are just the right length, which I always appreciate. It is one of those unbelievable true crime sagas that is simply hard to even fathom, which makes for a remarkable story.

The only drawback to this story is that the reader already knows who commits the crime right from the start, which is just a bit disappointing. Other than that, I highly recommend this to anyone who loves true crime, or mystery and suspense. Even with knowing who committed the crime, I would still say this story has a great element of mystery and suspense to it. Fingers crossed this book is eventually made for the big screen, because I’ll certainly binge-watch it.
