I love reading true crime books and the synopsis of the book grabbed my attention. The cover is stunning as well but I would not have guessed it was a true crime novel until I read the title and the books synopsis. It would be one of those I hesitated to pick up and investigate if I saw it in a store. I would have missed out on good read it would seem.
Mary and Bill have a chiropractic practice and are excited about a month long trip they have planned, but then Mary gets violently ill all of a sudden. This is very unlike her and makes you stop and wonder what is going on. You know something isn't right considering this is a true crime novel so my first thought goes to poisoning. Now the question is who would do this to an old woman who seems to have so much to look forward to in the next stage of her life. She didn't seem to have any enemies. Adam is a sketchy son who seems to keep himself private and battling some sort of mental illness, so could he have something to do with it. Then there is Katy, Adam's ex who works for his parents. Could she have a motive? Then her husband could be a character of interest too.
I want to know this entire story and the way it is written grabs you, wanting the reader to keep going and uncover the details of this story.
