I want to cry! What! I need to know what happens. Within just a few short pages I cared for the characters. I’m already in love with this story. I feel invested and my heart is hurting with them.
The interview like style that is incorporated is something that I really like. Even though we don’t get the question, we hear the answer, and it fits in perfectly with what the author has written. I love the fact that we have direct quotes from the people that this story is about. It allows us to remember that this is all real, because sometimes it is easy to forget that somebody lived through this.
There is a lot of facts in the story, but it doesn’t feel like a textbook. It’s like an old friend sharing their experience. The detail in the story has a good balance and I’m able to grasp the surroundings. I love the writing style. It’s hard to explain but it just written so well. You can tell how much thought and time was put in. It’s also very easy to read and become absorbed in. I need more!
