I rounded up my rating from the 3.5 that I honestly would have given this book. I went into reading it incredibly excited. Magical creatures and tales from ancient Arabia are something I haven’t read a lot of and was eager to experience. The story dragged a lot for me in the beginning and it wasn’t until about halfway through that I really got into the story. I will read the sequel but if my library hadn’t had it to put on reserve it wouldn’t have been an instant buy for me. The Huntress is a peasant with a strange ability to enter a cursed and scary woods that no one else has ever entered and left untouched. She goes in and hunts feeding and supporting her people. The Prince of Death is an assassin for the corrupt Sultan who has learned through harsh lessons to obey without question. They’re both already legendary, but this is the story of them embarking on an adventure that will change them and the entire world.
