The writing felt so imaginative and descriptive. It felt like reading a beautifully crafted fairytale. I also really liked the characters and they felt deep and fully written/formed. I would say this book is definitely one of the better YA fantasies that I have read and would recommend it to anyone looking for a good YA fantasy. The book also felt like a loose Aladdin retelling and I also really enjoyed that aspect of it. I am also very excited to read the sequel to this book We Free the Stars and whatever else Hafsah Faizal decides to write in the future. All in all, this was a fantastic book with exceptional writing, an interesting plot, and well-developed characters.
