The book screams adventure and I craved for it. We Hunt the Flame is the first book in the Sands of Arawiya duology which depicts an epic adventure, ancient legends and magic on the desert. I really was looking forward to read this book since I’ve seen it often in bookstagram even before it got published. But then I only got to buy a copy recently which was a huge steal. Everything was not what I expected. The story I had in my mind was really different 😂.
The first half was quite slow paced but as I hoped, it got more exciting halfway through the end. Something happened that was a shock but I’d say that I expected that to happen but not that early 😅.
This book really got me craving for adventure.
Altair was a huge mood - love his character so much.
Bromance is real 🙌.
Zafira disguises herself as a man who known to be the Hunter of Demenhune who hunts to feed “his” people. Nasir is known as the Prince of Death who is a hashashi or an assassin/son of the Sultan.
And as much as I love them all, my fave character got to be Altair. He’s very hilarious and his humor has made their journey more fun and interesting.The world building was beautifully done. The storyline was well-written even though I had minor issues with the language as I didn’t quite understand some terms.
I’ve also noticed that this book is miss/hit kind to most people. That might be the case for me when I started it but later on it captivated me especially during the start of their journey. Crossing the sea and going into the forbidden and dangerous island to bring magic back into their lands. That stuff just really captures my attention. Revelations everywhere it just kept coming and just blew my mind. It ended in a major cliffhanger and the fact that I still had to wait until next year for the sequel just ended me 😭🤧. I need to know what happens to Altair!!!
