"In this moment we are two souls, marooned.
That was life, wasn't it? A collection of moments, a menagerie of people. Everyone stranded everywhere, always."

This book was so, so good and lived up to every bit of hype that surrounds it. I've already started the second one and am scared of finishing it because I don't want the series to be over. Everything about this was perfect: the romance (the enemies to lovers was so swoon-worthy), the CHARACTERS, the friendships, the plot, the plot-twists, the WRITING, the world-building. This book was everything I look for in a young adult fantasy romance and more.

Honestly it took me a really long time to get into this. I read up to around page 30 and wasn't super engaged but I finally pushed through the beginning and it quickly sped up and became more engaging.
One thing I really liked about this book that I don't really see anyone talking about was how short the chapters were. I really like multiple POV books but sometimes they get a little slow due to the back and forth. This book, however, incorporated both POVS perfectly and the short chapters & constant POV switches really helped move the book along. Maybe this is just a personal thing but I vastly prefer short chapters.

The characters and their relationships to each other were so in depth and I loved reading about them. I like for my fantasy books to have romance and I loved how it was incorporated in We Hunt The Flame . In my opinion there was the perfect amount, and Zafira and Nasir had so much chemistry. I loved watching the groups relationships with each other develop over the course of the story, and especially loved the complexities of Altair and Nasir's.
