When I first started reading We Hunt the Flame it took me a while to get into it. The beginning was a little slow, but I was determined to going with it. You start off with Zafira in her small village that is being over taken by a magical forest. Anyone that enters the forest either goes crazy, or never comes back. Zafira is the only person that can come and go as she pleases in the Arz. She provides for her village and keeps them from starving by being a symbol of hope for her people. She pretends to be a man known as "the Hunter". We then see Nasir, the Prince of the kingdom Arawiya. He is his father's assassin and is sent away to silence anyone who challenges him. Nasir's father catches word of a Hunter who can enter the Arz as he pleases and sends Nasir to kill him because he can't have anyone spreading that much hope. This book is fantastic. From the aspects of found family, to the budding romance, and the serious levels of mystery shrouding what happened to the sisters that protected the continent. It really kept me interested the whole time once I caught my stride in the book. I also learned a lot about Arabian folklore.
