Loved it
I loved this book. The descriptive writing style was great. I found myself lost in the book even at the uneventful parts that focused on developing characters and background. The way it was written made me see the scenes so vividly.
The book has a double point of view. It follows Zafira, a huntress, and Nasir, the Prince of Death. Zafira hunts to keep her people alive since a dark magical forest combined with a tyrannical sultan has left her caliphate frozen and scarce. Nasir is the sultan's son. He is an assassin. He is the broken, morally grey, dark haired character that makes for a fun love interest. It is a slow burn romance. Every little moment that the characters showed any vulnerability had me smiling. But the adventure of this story was amazing and I would have loved it without the exciting enemies to lovers arc. This book confused me at times. All of a sudden the characters would say things or find themselves in situations and it seemed like it came out of nowhere. But overall a great story of trekking through the desert, encountering magical obstacles, discovering your character, and fighting.
