To start off let me just say that I was really scared to read this book because of all the hype i've heard about it. NEVER and i mean NEVER have i ever scorned myself for letting fear stop me from picking up a book sooner. This book was beyond what I can describe in words. Like i'm still in shock and don't know whether to laugh, cry, or just stare blankly at a wall (possibly all three at once.) I really can't explain how happy it made me when I saw bits of myself in the story whether it was because of the Arabic words in the story, the food they ate, or the names, the names that I could pronounce so easily everything just hit home. Enough of that and on to the story. Did someone say slow burn/tension filled enemies to lovers- knife to the throat type trope? Hilarious banter? Unlikely squad goals? Well, check, check, and check! The story building is phenomenal and not to mention the plot twists that had me on the edge of my seat and screaming into my pillow. I'll leave everything at that because I need to go read book two now!
