We Hunt the Flame was one of the biggest books of the year. It took me two months to finally get a copy from the library and I could not wait to settle down with my book and get into this much-awaited book....and boy was I disappointed.

I adore books that start off strong and get into the plot immediately and this book is not one of those books. It was boring, I was not invested or interested in the characters. It almost seemed as though the author wanted the world to be so vivid that the world-building was much too harsh and too much information at once.

However, wanting the book's world to be so unique, it doesn't do a good job of attempting this with the other elements of this book. The plot is much like any other YA fantasy novel, the same teen who must go on a journey and meets a group of people who help or hinder them on their way.

Once again, this book will not lead me in following along the series.
