I can't believe it took me this long to finally pick up this book. It was magical, it had adventure, really good world building and the banter was *chef's kiss.
The story revolves around Zafira, a girl who disguises herself as a man in order to feed the people in her village. I really likes Zafira. She was stubborn, and spunky and quick. She was the type of character that not only leaps off the pages memorable as well. I liked her strong will and her attitude.
One thing I really liked was the world building. We Hunt the Flame takes place in an ancient Arabia inspired world named Arawiya. There's legends and magic in the desert and the world felt so vast and colorful.
I also liked the cast of characters. They're growth and relationships as well as their banter. One moment they could be serious and in the thick of things and the next it felt as if they could do anything.
