We Hunt the Flame had so many things I love - interesting world building, a strong and intelligent female heroine, and a prince finding ways to redeem himself.
Zafira was a character I really liked and I was invested in her journey quickly. Nasir is the type of character who I find interesting with his tortured past and constant hope for something better. Together, I really enjoyed them and found their interactions to be the most entertaining part of the book.
The world of Arawiya felt rich and interesting with a clear and detailed history. Im hoping that we get to explore more in the sequel. The way the Arz was presented at the beginning I thought it was gong to be almost like another character but was a little disappointed when Zafira moved on from it quicker than I expected. Some portions of her journey had pacing that was a bit slow and I found my interest waning at times. However, I feel that many of the revelations and twists at the end have set this series up to continue in interesting ways. I am ready to find out where this story goes from here.
