An intriguing blend of fantasy and drama mixed into a novel.
I liked the book, but I didn't go crazy for the story, full of clichés, nor for the characters, with whom I didn't relate.
Very slow running - story only starts at 150 pages in.
But I was really excited about the release of this book and, perhaps, the expectations were too high.
I also had a problem with the romance. It was really underdeveloped. The characters have no reason to be into each other apart from physical attraction for much of the story. The author seemed to focus too much on setting and world building and not enough on character development.
I had a hard time forcing myself to finish this book.
The positive part was the word building well structured that did not give me problems and being Italian is the thing I fear most when I read a fantasy book.
To top it off so it's not a book that made me sick, but it hasn't become my favorite either.
