I loved the world building and the writing style of this book. There were so many moments where I felt like I was truly there with the characters, especially when she wrote about the food and the smells. I loved the main character and her strength throughout but I did struggle to understand parts of it at times and I genuinely wasn’t convinced by the enemies to lovers or the slow burn. This was a very well crafted book with a complex story, world, and unique set of characters and it’s own special share of magic, but I just struggled to grasp certain parts and felt myself having to backtrack and read the scenes over again. I wanted more from the beginning and the two main characters but I also wanted more from the end because it felt very rushed. Overall, it was a really good read and a great debut novel filled with all of our favorite troupes. It’s a must read for sure.
