I cannot stress how much I love the enemies to lovers trope and let me tell you, this has got to be one of my favorite examples of it. From the banter and the forced proximity, I fell completely in love. I can rarely find an enemies to lovers book that I like, where it's done in a way that I personally find interesting. This book crossed off everything that I wanted.
I do have to say that the beginning felt slow and difficult to get into. However, I did recognize that because this is set in a different world, it would need time to create a perfect model of it in readers minds. And, once the setting was completely developed, I found it perfect.
Personally, I love books with the perfect combination of plot and characters. This book did a good job of keeping the readers filled with suspense at what was happening and also swooning over the two main characters.
If you like strong female leads, incredible world building, and witty banter, this book is perfect for you!
