Absolutely gorgeous fantasy debut!
I read this book based on the hype it got though many hyped books weren't for me, I decided to give it a try. And believe me it was the best decision of my life. Read this book in the starting of 2021 and I'm writing a review at the almost end of this year.😅 But my feelings towards this book is exactly the same as before.
Set in ancient Arabia, we follow Zafira bint Iskandar, a Huntress, dressed as a man because of the unending prejudice and oppression against women to feed the people of her village by hunting.🏹 Then we have the second protagonist, Nasir Ghameq who is a coldblooded assassin, the Crown Prince. They both traverse to Arz to retrieve the Jawarat for entirely different reasons. One for good and the other for evil. Along the way they meet each other and a couple of others with whom they form an unlikely crew.
That was the intro but now I'm gonna talk about the plot, characters and writing style. The writing style was different, unique and full of thoughtful quotes that I just needed to pause and mull over the meanings for awhile. The plot was definitely something I haven't read about yet and was very thrilled throughout the book to the extent where I thought I was gonna go blind.😂 The characters!!! I love the found family aspect and was yearning for more! The friendships were immaculate. Also, Deen and Benyamin.💜 I have read the conclusion while writing this review and so I'll just say I didn't like Nasir a lot but he was amazing in the second book.
Rating: 4.5🌟
