As soon as I read the first line I was in awe. Every sentence felt as if originally written in a poem.
Faizal’s descriptors are visually remarkable and incredibly immersive, even when describing an outfit or food was lovely and poetic.
I absolutely adore the ancient Arabia culture tie ins and how the author uses native names and lore. Another thing that made me love everything about this book and author is the discussion on women. How the main char. has to dress as a man as a ‘huntress.’ I love politics within fantasy. Especially when regarding females and the way their world treats them.
The cover art is one of the most beautiful pieces I have ever seen. Incredibly eye catching; the colors contrast perfectly and the scape with the mysterious figure in black intrigues the viewer. The art also gives me major Starry Night by Van Gogh.
The fact the author works on Skyrim and Assassin’s Creed is also beyond cool.
It’d be a great honor to carry a copy of this novel. I want to fully immerse myself in this sandy yet cold place and dig deeper into the characters’ histories. Most of all I’m interested in learning the legends and lores of Faizal’s cryptic fantasy world.
