First of all, the cover is gorgeous. The cover is what got my attention and I really wanted to enjoy the excerpt. I do enjoy the YA fantasy, but this particular excerpt from the novel didn't really engage me as much as I thought it would. Perhaps I needed to be in the right state of mind to thoroughly enjoy it. Rated it one star. I didn't like it.
