I really like the details in this book. The map, the decorations next to the page numbers, and even the font is special: it gives the story a distinct personality and vibe. I also like the protagonist a lot. She is strong-willed, determined, loyal to her family, and brave. She risks everything to hunt and do things that girls in the story are not allowed to do because let's face it, girls can do it and they do it better.
One thing that made reading the story a little hard was some of the terms. I am not familiar with some of the words (sooq, arak, daama snow, ifrit, qit, etc) and I wish there was some explanation for what they mean and how it relates to the story. I tried looking up the words but some of them did not have any clear results that fit with the storyline. Overall I think it's a great fantasy story in a cool magical realm.
