The excerpt of WE HOPE FOR BETTER THINGS grabbed me from the very first paragraphs. A journalist, a man with photos from a riot in the 60s, and an interracial marriage. How are they all connected? Will the journalist be able to get her hands on the mysterious photos? Could she really be related to this Nora person? And, how was the Judge connected to the riots? So many unanswered questions coupled with such an intriguing excerpt means that I must get my hands on this book ASAP!
