On first look, the cover art is beautiful and gives a preview of whose stories we can see inside. Upon seeing the first few pages I was pleasantly surprised to see color! The art style is beautiful, from the first pages of floral art, to the feature pages with the contrast of the black and white images on the floral setting.
I love that all of the profiles on each women are broken down into sections, split up with larger quotes and graphics. Sometimes books like this can be intimidating to start, so having all of the text be broken down gives the feel that you could read one person’s story per sitting and then be able to pick right up where you left off.
The choice of women featured in the first few pages was great, there is a diverse group of women from all different backgrounds and ethnicities to really drive home the point that the experiences of women of color are expansive and diverse.
Id definitely read this book!
