This book is absolutely gorgeous, and the writing is by no means an afterthought to the wonderful photos and overall highly considered aesthetic. It would make a fabulous gift or coffee table book, but it's also fun to just dip into every now and then as a fully realized book. I particularly appreciated the variety of backgrounds of the women of color featured in the book, and I appreciated that the bios given were fairly in-depth for how short they had to be to fit on the page. That being said, the book would've been even stronger, to me, if there had been more depth to some of the bios, though as I said, I understand the space limitations that led to the editorial decisions. It was also great that the spread of women featured went from the VERY well known to the somewhat more obscure, or niche, which hopefully will lead some folks to discover new icons to learn about more deeply.
