I am not usually a fan of non-fiction, but I thought I would give this one a try. I am so glad I did! This book wasn't just a story; it was an experience.
I loved learning about women of color (many of which I had never heard of) that had done things or were actively doing things to change the world. They were social activists and educators of many important and timely topics of the world. Racial injustice, Black communities, social injustice, and privilege are just a few things that are discussed in this book.
I would be remiss if I didn't point out how beautifully designed this book is as well. The photos are only the tip of the iceberg. Everything is colorful and inviting and easily leads the eye through the beauty of these women's lives.
I also really appreciated that there were quotes from each woman included. It made them and the information about them more real. These women were truly incredible and I hope they make more books like this!
