Books like this are hard for me. Im a mutt, equal parts black,white,Blackfoot and Cherokee and thus I was raised to never see color and that there was only one race, the human race. We may come from different nations, we may have different skin tones, hair textures, traditions, cultures and pasts but we ALL come from 1 common ancestor and we are all the same. So when i see books that separate us just for the sake of division its upsetting. We have to stop seeing skin tone and stop separating people by it. Thats what the MLK and the civil rights movement fought for. Equality and togetherness and here we are segregating and separating races again. They did all that work for us to just undue it all...
