We Are The Brennans is the story of an Irish Catholic family, torn apart by secrets. The book revolves around Sunday, who left abruptly years before, only to return after an accident. Determined to help with family business, depite having to face her ex- on a daily basis, will the reasons behind Sunday's sudden departure finally come to light?

I would give We Are The Brennans three and a half stars if the rating system would allow. The family dynamics are plausible and the story itself came together in a realistic way. The way that Sunday's mother leans on her only daughter is definitely in keeping with many families. Additionally, Sunday's response to her situation is also on par. The plot is telegraphed too much at the beginning, which resulted in me spending a fair amount of time reading just to see how it all plays out.

Overall, although certain aspects of the plot seemed unrealistic, I did enjoy reading the novel. Readers who like novels about family dynamics and dysfunctions will like We Are The Brennans.
