I loved the premise of, "We Are the Brennans." Who doesn't relish the idea of a frosty pint among chums? All the news that is news awaits at the local pub.

It is a tale of local boys making good, expanding their business beyond the neighborhood. The former high school jock and his sidekick seem to have it all...homes, wives, kids...and a history.

It is only when the prodigal sister returns to the fold that we begin to see the cracks in the facade. Secrets, half-truths, and what-might-have-beens bubble to the surface. Misunderstandings and misinformation lead to hard feelings and regrets. Sins of the fathers are revisited on the family. Resentment leads to a vendetta that can end in financial ruin. Who would intentionally sabotage their hopes and dreams?

The author delights in developing complex characters with intricate relationships. I recommend you find a booth, order a pint, and meet the Brennan's!
