"We Are The Brennans" by Tracey Lange is a drama fiction about an Irish Catholic family living in the United States. Each sibling and the parents all have their own secrets and important issues that they're each battling, but the catalyst of the story begins when Sunday, the precocious and intelligent daughter nearly kills herself in a drunk driving car accident. As she returns home and is comforted by her family, she realizes again why she left and starts to unravel some dark family secrets. I think this book could have been more interesting, but I felt that it was poorly paced. We learn every aspect of these characters lives in long-winded expositional chapters, when the plot could have been more interestingly told. I felt that this book would be good for those who enjoy family melodramas like "This is Us". I'd read more by this author in the future.
