Grab a drink and some tissues, you’ll need both as you follow the Brennan’s through this emotional journey. With a wide cast of characters and multiple points of view, this is without a doubt the family drama of the year.

Our story starts with Sunday, second born and only girl in a traditional Northeast Irish family. After a drunk driving accident, she returns home after a 5 year hiatus to deal with her 3 brothers, dementia-ridden father and resentful ex-fiancé. Secrets abound, and like any good story, there are multiple layers to every deceit.

But what I loved most about the story wasn’t the twists and reveals; instead, it was the steadfast love from imperfect people. We all make mistakes, and some have higher costs than others, but if you have the support of family and loved ones, nothing is impossible.

This book is the remedy to the isolation and separation of 2020, and it’s a beautiful reminder that we are flawed humans, and that’s ok. I would recommend this to anyone who wants to feel hope, especially families!
