One of my all-time worst pet peeves is a storyline that is driven by a simple misunderstanding that could have been cleared up in a single conversation. This is so common and it drives me absolutely nuts. However, I think I can say that this book took that concept and actually made it a compelling, realistic, and heartfelt story which totally took me by surprise. I loved everyone in the family, I loved their dynamics, and I loved their ability to work together as a family when it was important. Each chapter switched perspective which gave you richer viewpoints across the family. A sweet and sad family drama.
