I can't stand drunks or anything related to alcohol and alcoholism, that's why I hesitated a lot about picking up this book as the synopsis tells the main character caused a car crash by drunk driving.

I was looking for something out of my comfort zone (fantasy) and saw this newer release with good ratings on goodreads, so after much hesitation I gave it a try.

This is a very character driven story, and I think the author did a good job in writing the characters, as each one is unique. They're all realistic and fleshed out, and even thou we see many point of views throughout the book, it's easy to tell them apart and be invested in them all.

The premise may sound boring, but it's actually a pretty entertaining read that kept me engaged since page one. The family dynamics asre very interesting and the characters are well written.

overall, an enjoyable read.
