This book gave me such a hangover. I freaking, seriously, absolutely loved it. I didn't want to put it down as much as I didn't want it to ever end.

Can you fall in love with a book and fictional characters? Because I certainly did with this one and it even made me cry at some scenes (looking @ you, Page 151, hardcover edition).

I am not sure what makes me so drawn to this book. It's not perfect by any means. I felt like there was a bit of victim-blaming (which is usually a huge no-no for me but since it was written from Jackie's POV, I could empathise with it being the thoughts of someone who's only human). Vivienne was also unfairly victimised, even though she is a victim here too despite her lashing out.

But it's just so real. And real is better than perfect.

This book could have been double in length or there could be a sequel about the Brennans just going about day-to-day life doing the most mundane things, and I would read it in a heartbeat.
