Took me a moment to understand Em and Marianne were one and the same since Em is usually short for Emily. But ultimately this is an important novel that seems like it is going to delve into the nasty and all too realistic parts of rape victims and how their rapists are let off easy. once published most people will likely not want to delve into this and would rather brush it off, ignore it, or condemn this novel. But it will be interesting to see how the author tackles this topic.
