Joy McCullough is known for her dynamic and bold verse in her first book Blood, Water, Paint and this book immediately packs the same punch. The author's writing is so lyrical and poetic that it draws you in and won't let you stop turning the pages. The jolting time jump in chapter one and immediate set up of the court case is so well done.
