“Fact: Dinosaurs still exist. Here's what they look like. A father and son in a failing used bookstore, spending long, aimless days consuming words no one around here buys anymore.”

I took one look at the cover and assumed We Are Inevitable was going to be another contemporary romance, but it is not your typical love story. Don’t get me wrong, it has the meet-cute of my dreams, but at its heart, it is a book about community. It’s a love letter to bookstores, small towns, and the people that give them life. It’s a book about family, loss, healing, and trust. It’s an ode to music and books and the magic of how story brings people together.

This was my first book by Gayle Forman but it certainly won't be my last. With its bitingly sharp humor, quirky cast, and bookish references, We Are Inevitable had my attention from the opening chapter to the last line. I guess you could say we were inevitable 😏
